Henan University of Science and Technology is situated in the modern city of Luoyang which is famous for its historical and cultural richness. In 2002, the former Luoyang Institute of Technology, Luoyang Medical School, and Luoyang Agricultural School were brought together, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and the university was named the Henan University of Science and Technology. The highly advanced and provincially best infrastructure of the university enhances the teaching and research experience through systematic disciplinary formation. The university has promising training, research, and social service programs along with excellence in the field of arts, science, medicine, and agriculture.
Henan University of Science and Technology comprises 31 schools with 12 doctoral programs, 156 postgraduate programs, and 87 undergraduate majors. The highly-skilled faculty of the university has a major contribution to the development of the university. The university includes 1,732 teachers, of whom 667 are senior professionals, 788 masters, 333 doctors, and over 200 seniors are the state, provincial or ministerial experts, or experts who enjoy special governmental allowance. Meanwhile, the university also shares 7 academicians with other institutions and has 23 provincially-supported professors, well-known teachers, and creative talents of provincial colleges and universities.
