MBBS Course in Russia Duration

6 Years

The course duration of MBBS in Russia is 6 years for English medium. International students who will choose to study MBBS in Russia with English as medium of instruction do not need to take any sort of language preparatory course before starting the academic year for MBBS. Although, Russian would taught as an academic language subject during the first three years of MBBS in Russia to acquaint the students with the language which will help them in communicating with the local patients while clinical practice. The students will begin visiting the clinics and hospitals after completing their third year of MBBS programme.

The students who opt to study their MBBS in Russian medium, the duration of course would be seven years as the first year will be preparatory. During this time, the students will be trained in Russian language before they begin their six years of medical training.

Eligibility for MBBS in Russia:

The student should have a minimum of 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in their class 12th or equivalent examination for general category and 40 percent in the same subjects for all reserved category students.

The student should be minimum of 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st of December.

Since, there are no entrances examinations, the admission are strictly on first come first serve basis.

Recognition of degree:

The Medical Council of India and World Health Organisation have recognised medical universities in the foreign countries and have advised medical students to pursue their MBBS only from those universities.

The students who have completed their MBBS degrees from Russia and wish to practice in India will need to clear the screening test conducted by the MCI.
