State University of Medicine and pharmacy ‘Nicolae Testemitanu’
The university was named after Nicolae Testemitanu. It was established in 1945 and it is located in Chisinau, Moldova. In the beginning it only had one faculty ‘Faculty of General Medicine’ and 32 departments with 1000 students. Teaching was carried out by 130 professors. With time, the university incorporated other faculties such as Faculty of Stomatology, Pediatric Faculty, Faculty of Preventive Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy.
Other than increased faculties, the university has had significant growth with increased programs and facilities over the last 70 years. The school also hopes to conduct scientific research that is world class.

The school has a modern scientific library that plays a major role in the training and research process. In 2002, the university center of information ‘Infomedica’ was established. This was to create room for more extensive study and research. The university has various international alliances with European and other world educational systems. This supports participation of students and teacher exchanges, implementation of new methods of training, diagnosis and treatment, research, accessing of researching grants and sharing of training and institutional development. The university has various schools. This includes a hospital based medical school for local students and another medical school for international students. The university utilizes modern educational concepts and international training methods to tutor students.
The faculty includes the Faculty of Stomatology, Faculty of preventive medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Pediatrics.
The school has a hospital clinic, café, canteens, and ATM in close proximity to the student hostels. It has 14 scientific labs that are well equipped. It also has 86 modern clinics and polyclinics.
The university has a total of 16 hostels buildings. Students can choose to share between 2 or 3 people. The hostels have a balcony on each floor, small corridors and washrooms.
