About:

South Ural State Medical University (Chelyabinsk State Medical University) is a higher education institution under Russian federal control. The university implements a multi-level system of continuous training of specialists with higher medical, pharmaceutical, and humanitarian education, all from secondary schools to doctoral studies. South Ural State Medical University was established in 1944 as Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute when Kiev Medical Institute was transferred to Chelyabinsk city. In 1995, Chelyabinsk State Medical Institute was renamed to Chelyabinsk State Medical Academy. The international co-operational programmes of the university are quite extensive.

International Collaborations:

Chelyabinsk State Medical University is one of the co-founder of the South Ural Research Centre for Population Health of Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, started in 2002. Students, interns, residents, young tutors of the university are actively involved in the scientific research on international scale, co-ordinated by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and the Council of Young Scientists. The international relationships are constantly expanded by Chelyabinsk State Medical University and it takes part in the execution of 2 international large scale programs- one of which is carried out with the University of Rochester (USA). In the context of co-operation with foreign universities, an exchange program of students and residents are taking place within International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFSMA).
