The university is a privately owned medical university that is located in Lusaka, Zambia. The university was established to address the shortage of medical personnel in Zambia and Southern Africa in general. It is a leading private university in Zambia. The main university is located along the Lusaka-Kasama road. It consists of other campuses that include Foxdale campus along Zambezi road, TICK campus along Kasama road and Mutandwa campus along Mutandwa road, all located in Lusaka. It was incorporated in 2008 with the aim of providing competent, and skilled medical healthcare personnel.

University Introduction:
The school was established by 8 Zambian professionals. By 2017, the university offered various undergraduate courses which included Bachelors of Medicine and surgery, Bachelors of Science in Nursing, Bachelors of Science in Midwifery, Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Bachelors of Science in Anesthesia, Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy, Bachelors of Science in Radiography, Bachelors of Science in Environment Health and Bachelors of Science in pharmacy. The school’s library aims at contributing to the supply of high-quality medical information materials to its students and staff.
Faculty:
The faculties and the departments in the university include Faculty of Pre-Medical science, Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery Science, Faculty of Medical Radiation Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Campus Life:
One of the clubs in the university is the debate club. The first books in the university library were donated by the World Health Organization. The library was initially established in a classroom. The Chalala library was later opened in 2016. Currently the university has 5 libraries each at its 5 campuses. This includes the Chalala main library, pharmacy nutrition and dietetics library, medicine and surgery campus library, health sciences library and radiography library. The libraries offer reference services, lending services and internet services.
