University Introduction:
It was the first private institution to establish a medical college in Nepal. It was established in 1994. It is affiliated with Kathmandu University. It is recognized by the Nepal Medical Council.
Faculty:
The university has 135+ experienced faculty. Courses offered include MBBS, PCL Nursing, and BSc Nursing.
Campus Life:
The university has a playing field for cricket, basketball, volleyball and indoor game facilities for badminton, table tennis and chess. Students participate in inter-batch competitions and friendly matches throughout the year. Both the campuses have canteens attached to dining halls. PFF is an NGO that is mainly managed by students in their 5th semester. Students raise funds by various means such as college fetes, movie shows, dances, sales of t-shirts and donations from students and faculty. These funds support the cost of treatment of patients unable to afford it themselves.
Accommodation:
The university provides accommodation facilities that are separate for female students and male students. They are provided on a twin sharing basis. The rooms are well furnished and have other amenities such as geysers for hot water. Students are required to carry their own bed linen. Students are encouraged to carry warm clothing, blankets or quilts for the cold seasons. The housekeeping and laundry services are outsourced. The hostel committee, headed by Director of student affairs looks after the hostel.
