Anhui Medical University, formerly known as Shanghai South-eastern Medical College, is one of the key universities in Anhui Province. The university relocated to its present place and was renamed Anhui Medical University in June 1996. The university has international students from America, Canada, Australia, Japanese, Korea, South Asia and Europe. The university campus has an impressive environment and easy access. The university has succeeded to promote an inter-disciplinary, combination of teaching and scientific research with clinical activities. An important step in combining the strength of medication and medical research was the realization of the necessity for expansion of the campus and the establishment of additional affiliated hospitals for students practice and young scientists training. The Teaching and Research Building of Anhui Medical University provides both domestic and returned overseas scientists with well-equipped laboratories and internet access.
Anhui Medical University comprises 20 faculties, 22 laboratories, and 46 institutes and is partially funded by local government. The university curriculum maintains the international standard and the degree is recognized worldwide. Anhui Medical University owns 23rd rank in Top 100 Universities in China.
