Menoufia University in Al Minufya, Egypt was established in 1976. The school began with about 9,500 students, 214 staff members, and 372 assisting staff members. It also started out with 4 faculties. It has grown steadily since then to become one of the largest universities in Egypt. Today, the institution has about 80,000 students. In 2006, a university branch was established in Sadat city in accordance with presidential decree No 267.
