It was founded by Taffy Gould, a famous philanthropist, together with a handful of Australian doctors. It is operated via a public-private partnership between the Samoan Government and e-Medical Education, LLC.
The university’s mission is to produce physicians with adequate and necessary knowledge skills and attitudes to improve the health of communities in Oceania and beyond. The age of students ranges from 22-62 years old.

University Introduction:
The school is accredited by Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. University has faculty members from Australia, New Zealand and the United States. The school ensures that the medical curriculum is internationally applicable. The school program appeals to recent graduates and to working professionals as well. It consists of nurses, physical therapists, chiropractors, paramedics, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists. 10% of the students in the school have doctorates while half of them have master’s degrees.
