The university is located in Ras Al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates. The school’s establishment was a joint venture of Al Ghurair Investments, EFA Ascon Group and the Ras Al Khaimah Government. The school was established under the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who is also Chancellor of the University, Saud bin Saqr al Qasimi. The Government of Ras Al Khaimah currently manages and fully owns the school. The school started out with 22 students and now has more than 1220 students from 50 different countries. It has a teacher student ratio of 7:1.
It is the first school in the region to offer a 2year master’s program in Nursing and Pharmacy. It is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in the United Arab Emirates. The school comprises of 110 teaching staff and 125 non-teaching staff. The school’s academic standard has increased due to the work by the school faculty. Students from the school have passed their external exams such as PLAB and USMLE. Additionally, they have excelled in their Dubai Healthcare and Health of Abu Dhabi Examinations.
