The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a higher education institution for medical education. The university is situated in Birmingham, Alabama. Initially, the university was established as the academic center in 1936 but later on, in 1966 it became a four-year campus and ended with becoming an autonomous university in 1969. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is a coeducational institution for medical education. The university is affiliated with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Great Cities’ Universities, space-grant colleges, and the National Sea Grant College Program. The university is recognized by the World Health Organization and Medical Council of India. The university also has a separate sports affiliation from the National Collegiate Athletic association.  



The university has multiple faculties named as Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Optometry, Faculty of Health Professionals, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Health and Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Communication and Information Science and many more. Currently, the university has more than 22563 students and 2605 highly skilled faculty members.

The university offers accommodation to international students. There are 34 residence halls where the student can get housing. Students can contact the admission office to get on-campus accommodation. Hostel rooms are filled with modern infrastructure and basic utilities like dyer, internet facility, and basic cable, hot and cold-water supply. Wi-Fi and air-conditioned facilities are available on the entire campus.
