Tribhuvan University, Nepal
Tribhuvan University was established in 1959 making it the oldest university in Nepal. It is a public university for higher education located in an ancient city in Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. It was named after the late King Tribhuvan. It has over 1,100 affiliated colleges and 61 constituent campuses across the country. It has a wide range of disciplines with about 2000 postgraduate and 2079 undergraduate programs. The university is government financed making it cheaper than other private institutions. The prime minister of Nepal is the ceremonial chief and also the Chancellor of the university.

In the beginning, the university postgraduate classes were held at Tripurshewer campus. It was only in 1967 that the university was located to its main campus in Kirtipur. Since its establishment the university has expanded its programs. Being a large institution that is internationally recognized the university has fulfilled the requirements of many students.
The school has five institutes and four faculties where it administers its various programs. The institutes include Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, Institute of Medicine, Institute of Engineering, Institute of Science and Technology and Institute of Forestry. The four faculties are Faculty of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Education, and Faculty of Law.
Facilities offered by the school include a central library an international cricket ground. Students join various societies such as Nepal chemistry society, Nepal Mathematical society and Nepal Physical society. The university offers room for research in various research facilities: Center for Economic Development and Administration, Center for Nepal and Asian Studies, Research center for Applied Science and Technology and Research Center for Education Innovation and Development.
The university provides separate accommodation facilities for female and male students. The hostels have washrooms attached inside. Security is provided round the clock to ensure safety. A good canteen facility is available that provides Indian foods for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Other facilities include WIFI, centralized heating system and a sports club.
