University of Colorado School of Medicine

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is situated in Anschutz Medical campus in Aurora which is one of the campuses of University of Colorado. The school was established in 1883. The school relocated in 1924 to Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard at a new campus. It is included in the new campus was a General hospital. Other than the school of Medicine, the campus also contains School of Dental Medicine, College of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and School of Public health.

Medical facilities located in the campus include University of Colorado Hospital, Children’s hospital Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. The school of Medicine together with its affiliates have an exemplary record of clinical and research achievements. The University’s cancer center has been designated a comprehensive center by the National Cancer Institute. It has more than 300 faculty members.

University Introduction:

The school’s hospital is ranked the 15th best hospital in the country. One of the school’s major accomplishments is the development of the international standard for classifying and numbering human chromosomes by Theodore Puck. Significant institutions the school is affiliated to include National Jewish Health, Presbyterian St Luke’s Medical Center and Saint Joseph Hospital. The university has admitted male and female students equally since its establishment. There are senior clinical research specialists who offer support to research professionals trying to understand the regulatory rules. 


The only faculty in the school is the School of Medicine.
