University of Lagos is a public research university located in Lagos, Nigeria. It is popularly referred to as UNILAG. The university was established in 1962. Currently, the university has 3 campuses in the mainland of Lagos. The two campuses located in Yaba include the main campus, and the recently established campus at the school of Radiography. The other campus is the college of medicine located in Idi-Araba. It admits about 9000 undergraduate students every year. The school has graduated various students who include eminent scientists, lawyers, politicians, writers, business icons, monarchs, entertainers and countless technocrats.

By 2013, the school had about 57,000 students. It is accredited and overseen by the National Universities Commission. The school was recently ranked 3rd best university in Africa for entrepreneurship by Forbes magazine following University of Cape town and Makerere University. It tagged the university “startup powerhouse” college for Nigerian students. University of Lagos College of Medicine is affiliated with Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
The faculties in the school are Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Pharmacy.

Halls of residence for postgraduate students include Sodeinde Hall, Erastus Akingbola Hall, Henry Carr Hall, and Kwaku Adadevoh Hall.
