The school started out as a college and was established in 1881. It is located in the city of Liverpool, England. The public research university gained its royal charter in 1903. It became an independent university with the right to confer its own degrees. It consists of 3 faculties that are divided into 35 schools and departments. The university offers more than 230 first degree courses across 103 subjects. It is known as one of the original ‘Red brick’ civic universities. Among its alumni and past faculty are 10 Nobel prize winners.
The university is a founding member of the N8 group for research collaboration, the Russel Group and the University Management school is triple crown accredited. Departments of civic design, oceanography, architecture and biochemistry were first to be established in the university, in the whole world, at the Johnston Laboratories.

Overview of University of Liverpool
University Introduction:
The University was the first in the United Kingdom to establish an independent university in China. This took place in 2006. The school started out as University College, Liverpool in 1881. In 1882 it admitted its first students. Oliver Lodge, a professor at the university invented the worlds public radio transmission in 1894. Two years later, he took the first surgical X-ray in the United Kingdom. In 1899, the Liverpool university press was established. This makes it the third university press in the region. The school is majorly based across a single campus.
