University of Malawi, Malawi is the mother university for Chancellor College, College of Medicine, Kamuzu College of Nursing and the polytechnic. The university college of Medicine is situated in Blantyre on the Mahatma Gandhi road. The college was established in 1991. It has three campuses situated at Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mangochi. Another medical education institution is the Kamuzu College of Nursing. The institution has two campuses. The main campus of this institution is located in Lilongwe and another one is located in Blantyre.

University Introduction:

University of Malawi, Malawi is a higher education institution for medical education. It is part of the Malawian government’s educational system. The college of medicine is accredited by the National Council of Medical education and Kamuzu College of Nursing is affiliated with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi. Both the intuitions are recognized by the Medical Council of India and the World Health Organization.  



The college of Medicine has two faculties- Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Biomedical Science and Health Profession (BMSHP). The Kamuzu College of Nursing also has two faculties Faculty of Midwifery and Faculty of Nursing. Currently, more than 8000 students are studying at the university. 


Campus Life

The university believes in offering education by engaging the students in research, teaching, and public and community. The university has numerous research centers Centre for Social Research, Centre for Educational Research and Training, Centre for Language Studies, Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Sciences Research Centre, College of Medicine Research Centre, Gender Studies Unit, and Health and Technology Development Centre. In addition to this, each college has a separate library, student union, students’ groups, and communities. 



University allows first-year students to get accommodation in the university hostel. The university offers two types of rooms standard room and self-sharing room. The students have to give up the accommodation each year and reapply again. Students can collect the application form for the hostel from the office of the Dean. The hostel has various amenities such as a sports complex, hot and cold water, AC, etc.
