Ural State Medical University
Ural State Medical University is located in the Ural region of Russia and was established in 1930. It began as the Sverdlovsk Medical Institute. It started out with the medical and preventive faculty which had 100 students. Peter Spiridonovich Kataev was the first director of the institution. The university received the Order of the Red Banner award in 1979 for its contribution in training of medical personnel and development of medical science.
It was renamed to Ural State Medical Academy in 1995 and later to Ural Sate Medical University in 2013. It offers undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and residency programs. It is recognized by the World Health Organization, Medical Council of India, UNESCO and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

University Introduction:
Students who wish to pursue programs taught in Russian have to take Russian Language, Biology and Chemistry exams. Students applying for bilingual program in General Medicine have to pass Biology and chemistry exams. The school offers MCI coaching to the students. It has more than 30 international partnerships and agreements. Researchers collaborate with various organizations such as Federal Scientific Institute of the Ministry of Public Health of Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Science in the Ural region and other foreign institutions in Denmark, Hungary and China.
Faculty:
The faculties in the university include Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Stomatology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Higher Nursing Education, Faculty of Pediatrics, Faculty of Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Post-Graduation, Faculty of Distance Learning, and Faculty of Training and Internship.

The university has electronic simulation equipment in the Center of practical skills, has a central research laboratory, science and education center, vivarium, a university library, and a dental clinic.
