The Kyrgyz Russian Slavic University is located in Bishkek Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1992 in accordance with the Warsaw Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual assistance between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation. It has worked hand in hand with Yeltsin foundation since its establishment. The foundation has provided financial assistance by supporting 50 students with grants and by improving university equipment. It was named after Boris Yeltsin, the former president of Russia. It was a sign of respect as he offered great support and encouragement in the establishment of the university. The MBBS program takes 6 years inclusive of the internship.

The university has more than 200 teams of professional and experienced staff members recruited from the country and around 33 staff members are from different countries.
The University has schools and colleges with various departments like the Project Management, and Finance. College of Science and General Studies has a Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Humanities and Social Studies, Department of Life Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, and Alfaisal University Preparatory Program. College of Medicine has departments like Family and Community Medicine, Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Paediatrics, Physiological Sciences, Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, Family and Community Medicine, Anatomy and Genetics, and Surgery, Obstetrics, and Radiology.
