Bashkir State Medical University is one of the leading major medico-scientific universities in Ufa, Russia and ranked 10th among the best Russian Universities. Today, the university is a big scientific establishment of Bashkortostan Republic where fundamental, applied and methodical scientific researchers conceded. It was established by the Decree of the Council of Peoples’Commissars and has been training students since 1932, under the name of Bashkir Medical Institute. Bashkir State Medical University trains foreign students and has been accredited by the Ministry of Education of Russian Federation.

University is a member of World Health Organisation (WHO) and recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) India, (MMC) Malaysia, (GMC)the UK and others various countries. It has extensive scientific contacts with many foreign higher educational establishment and more than 400 foreign students from 28 countries study at the BSMU. Moreover, due to low tuition fees structure, trouble-free admission process, exceptional training, and knowledge BSMU have become popular among Indian students for medical studies.Furthermore, students from 26 countries of Europe, Asia, and Latin America have studied at Bashkir Medical University.

At present, eminent scientific schools, viz. schools of surgeons, oncologists, neurologists, dermatologists, biochemists, and morphologistsare functioning in the BSMU. Academy comprises of well-known scholars and medical practitioners proficient in teaching, medical and scientific activities. There are 85 theoretical and clinical departments with 248 Doctors of Sciences, 610 MDs’in this educational institution. It also has training facilities, material and technical resources and a large library stock. In addition, since 84 years, the university has been effectivelyeducatingindividuals for health care, scientific and pedagogical work in the field of professional, medical and pharmaceutical education of the Russian Federation.

BSMU Infrastructure

BSMU has a hospital, medical and dental outpatient clinics, well-equipped laboratories,a huge library, sports amenities, five dormitories, a summer camp and a sanatorium. The University has an IT department, 8 inter-departmental computer classes that are used by 49 departments. University includes a campus-wide LAN and a fast internet connection. Undergraduate and graduate scholarcan employ well-resourced scientific labs for ultra-modern medical research.

BSMU has developed into a huge centre for undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as resident ship, internship, and refreshment courses for doctors and pharmacyprofessionals.It operatessuccessfully postgraduate courses in 56 scientific majors and doctoral courses in 8scientific majors. There are 10 doctoral and 3 candidate dissertation councils which are responsible for defense and awarding academic degrees in 23 majors.Around 500 full-time faculties educates 8000 medical students with pre-freshmen training, undergraduate training, postgraduate training, internships, clinical residency, degree enhancement, requalification medical training and PhD programs at the University.

Currently,medical school came into a revolution period following modernization of health and medical education, intended to train highly qualified specialists for competitive market.Faculty of General Medicine educates individuals in internal disease, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, dermatology and infectious diseases, etc. The departments of the faculty are equipped with modern diagnostic facilities. Foreign scientists and consultants requested to deliver guest lectures.

Hostel Accommodations

BSMU has five hostels provide lodgings of 2000 students. There are fully furnished and comfortable rooms for boys and girls. The rooms are on sharing basis of two or three persons per room. Students are provided with full bedding. Students living in the hostels easily reach to the university by foot as hostel situated very close to the universities. Hostels are centrally air-conditioned and well equipped with wired as well as Wi-Fi internet.All the hostels are well guarded with police security.There is a dinning mess and cafeteria in the hostel as well as in the main block of the university, where food is availableat the nominal charges. Mess works from 10:00 to 22:00 Hrs every day. Students can get Indian food at the hostel canteen.

BSMU has an ideal atmosphere for both curricular and extra-curricular activities. Student clubs are vibrant and popular. The University comprise of 20 different kinds of sports. There is a department with soccer, volleyball, basketball, power lifting, chess, and mountain climbing classes. Summer sport camp of BSMU provides an opportunity for both staff and students to spend their free time and summer vacations. The camp offers boat trips, playgrounds, and saunas. Through the university, students can maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the school.

Eligibility for studying MBBS in BSMU

Entrance exam is not required for medical studies in Russia. Students can apply directly for the course and get admitted. Only 50% marks in PCB in the 12th standardand should be minimum 17 years old while applying are the norms for admission to the university. Mostly, Indian students fulfil these eligibility criteria and pursue their graduation medical studies in Russia.
