Tashkent Medical Academy

Tashkent Medical Academy was established after the 1st and 2nd Tashkent State Medical Institutes were abolished through the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I. A. Karimov. This took place in 19th July 2005. The school received status of ‘Higher Education Facility’ through the decision of the State Testing Center.

The school has 805 faculty members in total. Total number of students in the school is 4662. It contains 205 residency students and 735 postgraduate students. The school is in collaboration with other foreign institutions on matters related to education, research and strengthening partner relations between leading higher education facilities.

Some of the institutions include Humboldt University in Berlin, Family Medicine Residency Center in USA, Russian State Medical University and Samara State Medical University.

In Uzbekistan, MBBS is popularly known as General Medicine. Therefore, students seeking to study General Medicine at Irkutsk State Medical University must qualify for admission. The qualifications for studying General Medicine in this Institution include:

1) The student must appear in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) Medical assessment.

2) The aspirant must score up to 50% in Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.

3) Applicant must be up to 17 years old as of December 31 of that academic year.

University Introduction:

There are various facilities in the school which include Center of Acquiring Practical skills, OSCE center, 2 training laboratories, School of Public Health, Information Resource Center, and Demonstration-Training Stomatology Complex. It has an Interuniversity Scientific Research Laboratory that includes molecular-cellular, medical-genetic, pharmaco-toxicological and biological research departments. The academy also consists of the Department of Clinical Bases, Information Technology Center, Information Resource Center, Department of Accounting and Education Quality Control Department. 

Faculty:

The university has several faculties which include Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Medico-pedagogical, Faculty of Medico-prophylactic, Faculty of Stomatology and Faculty of Higher Nursing. 

Campus Life:

Students are expected to pass an interview to be accepted into the university. Students take part in various sporting activities.
