Yaroslavl State Medical University was established in 1944. It has more than 4,500 students who are enrolled into the university. The educational, research and scientific university is well known for its Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy fields. It is recognized by the World Health Organization and the Medical Council of India. 

In 1992, education of foreign students was started on a budget and contractual basis. There are 55 departments where education and training are carried out. Students from more than 40 countries study at the school. The countries include Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Namibia, Tunis, Greece, Kenya, Zambia and India.

University Introduction:

The school is famous for being an educational, research and scientific center. It leads in medical training, retraining of medical personnel and post-graduation education in central regions of Russia. Faculty members are members of different Russian and international societies. The staff members are well known clinicians and scientists in Russia and all over the world. The university has more than 500 members of staff with most of them being candidates of science, assistants and associate professors. The university has collaborations with organization from foreign states such as the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Germany, Japan, Spain, China and Italy. All school departments have access to the internet. 


The faculties in the school include Faculty of General Medicine, Faculty of Pediatrics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Postgraduate Education and Professional Retraining of Specialists of Health Care, Faculty of Clinical Psychology and Social Work, Faculty of Stomatology, and Division of Advanced Education.
